Random Buzz user says:

Don't edit the Csynth while the song is playing. Stop the song and edit the sounds. Reason is that the machine may spread som ugly noise through yout speakers. If that accures, press F12, Save the song, Quit BUZZ, Restart BUZZ and load the song.

Buzz Presets and Templates

Date: 2004-01-28 Author: noolout Viewed 4611 times

So here is a formula i like alot :
Peerchord/Mc1/Chorwizard/m2buzz (reimportable modular sequencing - external bmx manipulation)
+
Presets
+
Synthesis Templates
+
Automation Templates (which is possible with Peer Env, Cntrl, State, etc)
=
Pretty Good Quick Creative Power, way different than 'conventional' buzz use
---
So here's the Presets part of it - How did this come about ?
- went through all of Koopers templates, my own bmxs from the years, bmxs from the net over the years, from my own 425 templates pack, had major contributions by Hamster Alliance, Schizo, Clatter, Joachim, bm.com reviews, etc, etc. This was done over the last 6-8 months. This is quality but also quantity since it took so long to create by so many different people
- includes ALL the buzzmachines.com presets also
- convereted the mono .prs files to (stereo) for the wrapped machines using space1's stereohelp.exe (which creates (stereo) html/txt files as well) - find it on bm.com utilities - StereoHelp
- put it into a few different downloadable packs

pack #1 So this is ALL presets (303 kb rar)
pack #2 Only the Generators Only (190 kb rar)
pack #3 Only the Effects Only (113 kb rar)

How to install them ?
Unless you created a bunch of prs files yourself ... best bet is to just block copy and overwrite your existing .prs files (after making a back-up of existing .prs files) and maybe even your whole buzz gear folder (to be safe)
If you have created a bunch of prs files yourself, use the preset import box to import your own into this bank rather than the other way around

Presets of note -
Effects - StereoBox, Halyverb, FlaserBox, Sonic Verb, Jupiter1, Sea Cucumber, Multi, Wahpro2(stereo), phatman, chord, 310 machines total (about 100 or so stereo)
Genz - Infector, Jacinth, M4wII, Kyrie, Padsyn, Vibrasynth, PhatGrad, MX7, Voids, Ozo, GS Ultra 5+ and 6, FuDrums2, 128 total machines
To put this in perspective the infector's .prs is about 121 kb (Unrared'd) that is about 200-300 presets for it alone

The Size of the .prs file does NOT indicate the number of presets (usually but not always ) some machines have tiny kB .prs files but many individual presets. i avoided (mostly) presets that sounded like they were created by hitting random, its really stupid to upload .prs files to buzzmachines.com that are created this way - even a monkey without electrodes in his brain can do that :)

Anyone else want to contribute some .prs files? Email me
--------------------------------
Also, we have a very nice template pack assembled by
Kooper available on his site. And i took the time to split up an older version of his pack as well as create my own pack on my site. Hamster Alliance also has created a nice collection of templates on his site.
So there are 3 good template resources - with about 1500 or so templates total... know of any others ?
How about some sort of central template site? Maybe on buzzmachines.com or else where ?

Just a quick thought, its possible to have two buzz directories on your computer ... one with just machines you find work for you, and a second directory with all machines, the reason for this is so you can check out these template packs which is a OLD concept but really hasn't been used until NOW. Also there is a Great tool over here in the utils section, called
Beanie's Missing Machine Manager that will scan a bmx file, detect which machines it needs/or are missing and will also download them from buzzmachines.com ... how's that for convenience ? ... no more but i hate downloading bmx files, because they won't open excuses

btw...all these posts on the message board by me recently are in order to create a Frequently Asked Topics (FAT) type thing

good work. you've become quite the scribe & compiler for buzz, something that's been quite lacking. 2004-01-29 by kmkrebs

Hey, looking forward to the phat faq. Your recent series of roundup posts is a real goldmine of information. I might post a few roundup questions myself....
Can you explain more about your twisted new buzz workflow? I can kind of see how it works, but a more detailed example would help.
Thanks for all the work on the site, keep on buzzing,

peace

yea man, beanie's missing machine manager is a MUST for all newbies and ppl who don't keep their buzz updated, it can help find all machines that are missing from a bmx file so you can check them out ;)
