LFO 2 LFO

Date: 2003-12-17 Author: thOke Viewed 2480 times

... probably too obvious ... anyway ... :
What you get is an example of how to apply a PeerLFO to the min&max parameters of another LFO, which controls the cutoff slider of a moog filter. The result is a moving cutoff at a rate of three ticks constanly rising and falling at a rate of 128 ticks. Erm ... just listen. ;-)

Yeah !! Cool demo. Those machines are really great.
I was about writing some article / tutorial about the BTDDSYS machines (particularly PeerLFO and Peer ADSR) for the frenchybuzzers site. Your example will help me ;)
I have done a tutorial about PeerChord and I have noticed that, in a way, you can do something more or less similar with your stuff with the "Velocity et Random Velocity Deviation" command in PeerChord.
For those who are interested you can download my example here :

I think it's cool to work with these machines in live because you can create a simple 16 lines pattern that will always sound different each time the pattern is played (like you demonstrate it in your example and like in the mine).

MV - thank you! all peer machines and all comments in this review section are muuuuch appreciated. :)
Sweet snippet, but i am not sure i understand what you mean with "you can do something more or less similar with your stuff with the "Velocity et Random Velocity Deviation" command in PeerChord." You didn't even use the 'random velocity' feature in your example. ??

Check the Jeskola Bass 3 pattern in Peerchord. I use the random velocity parameter with the cutoff of the Bass 3 :)
Of course it's not *exactly* the same stuff that with the PeerLFO.
Try to listen only the first line in the sequencer with the loop enabled. Each time this loop is played the Bass 3 sounds (a little) different.

ahja .. i see ... it's quite subtle, but yes ... somehow comparable - although the lfo doesn't move randomly in my example. 2003-12-19 by thOke

Tried out a couple of different things - Next One - 1) First time ever, using PeerEnv to spice up the sound quality - interesting machine it is !! mixed stuff a bit, added some more drums and a synth (a nice hd-6-gs one) using chord wizard to create the patterns ... tweak tweak ... =] 2003-12-23 by noolout

Nool - cool!! ChordWizard in action :) ... i rewired and tamed everything a little bit ... also shortened some parts so that we can go on, but now i need a christmas break. vIX here Cheers 2003-12-23 by thOke
