For a nice warm effect to you filters place your delay or reverb after the filter, this way the wet reverb signal will still be going, its really spacey:)

Matilde beats programming

Date: 2003-12-16 Author: noolout Viewed 7971 times

Just a little demo to show what can be done programming in some beats with a matilde for drumloops - using:

01- p.up
02- p.down
09 - offset
11 - loop fit
E8 - reverse
E9 - retrig
and others ...in two columns...

and using the sequencer at step 64 - shift gry +/- on f4 will change step

i could have also done this in other ways
- looper 2
- cutting up the beats into quarters or eighths, etc and just adding to the wavtable
- cutting up the beats and adding to a single wav in the wavtable by assigning different root notes (slice 1 is c4, slice2 is d4, slice3 is e4, etc)
- this last one never really made sense to me

but this works pretty good, loopfit is quite nice ;)

this is an extreme example

That's cool! I've been wondering how to do stuff like that for ages and now I know . . . maybe . . . have to study it exhaustively and p'raps learn something. Maybe I won't have to feel quite so humbled next time I listen to Venetian Snares or the like! Thanks for that :) Is it worth trying to do stuff like this with individual drum hits or is it generally easier using a drumloop? 2003-12-16 by etruscan

I know it's still beta, and I hate to say anything against Matilde Tracker, but Unwieldy Tracker really kicks it's ass. It completely blurs the line between timestreching and retriggering (which are pretty much the same anyway), it has multiouts, sample randomize/humanize and can load 32 bit wav files. Pretty much every feature I can think of is included, except maybe volume slide.  2003-12-17 by wizenwet

Sorry, but how do i get a FSM Philthy ? Bad enough that half of the files don't work because there is no Rout 909 around... And now don't say "All Effects -> FSM -> ...", because i already clicked there, and other than all other effects, it doesn't work. 2003-12-20 by Spiritcatcher

Spirit: do you see the search box at the top right of the site? When you type "Philthy" there, you'll be able to download FSM Philthy. For the 909, check google...or search the messageboard here. I think there will be a download link around. 2003-12-20 by mva

Sorry, but the Machine Search takes me to the same link as the entry in the All Effects list... which doesn't work. What makes this link different from the others in the list ? Never had this problem before. 2003-12-22 by Spiritcatcher

it's true, i've also encountered this problem.
i have the newest phility version, and it crashes the instant i open a song that uses it
also older versions crash.

about the 909, that should be pretty easy to find... included in most big packs afaik 2004-03-04 by gabberboy (Voted 10 for this review!)

philthy - crashes ? ... it works really well here for a long time, as does all of FSM's machines ....

the 909 is available via google search rather readily :)

32 bit samples which now load into the cyanphase overloader's wavetable enhacement and triggerable with fuzzpilz unwieldy utracker :) Wikked Phresha 2004-08-06 by noolout (Voted 5 for this review!)
