KoDreamImprov BTDSys SampleGrid (1 he!he!) drum machine

When i want a drum machine, i use this template.
With a good drum/percussion kit, this template can produce some virtual drummer.
KoDreamImprov in multitracks patterns can play infini combinations, with absolute stucture control.
In this cheap demo i use a 24 ticks pattern in african style.

Great work Tinga - I never really bothered to figure out how this thing works - couldn't figure out how the probability worked, but it's just as simple as adding two sentences with the same name and they each get a 50 / 50... is it possible to assign other probability factors like 30 / 70 to two sentences?
This template really got me started. I hope the editor gets an update though... it's a pain. Using a text editor instead...
Do you have some more complex examples with more randomness / evolving unpredictable lovelyness?
keep it up :-]

yes, just do that:
S--> pattern
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var1
pattern-->var2
pattern-->var2
pattern-->var2

KoDreamImprov is very powerful
imagine that: create a sequence of eight bar with 4 variations for each bar and you have.....
16 777 216 variations of your eight bars pattern, thanks Mr KoDream!!!

----Ohm say: I hope the editor gets an update though... it's a pain
agree with you for the notes assignation but not for the semantic editor!
with the semantic editor you have the patterns and the stucture in the same place, with your word!
ok! its not easy to think music in the KoDreamImprov, but just at the biginning, and notepad (like you suggest) is great
for writing the semantic, after, ctrl_C ctrl_V!
in reality, i'm just at the biginning with this potent machine, but a lot of nice project with it.
this template is the start of some drum machines (virtual drummers) based on african and cuban (yoruba) polyrythms.
one of the first interresting link i found on the subject for this work

oops! i'm not ok with calculation, we get 16 777 216 with 8 variations, only 65536 with 4!
i think but not sure, what is the formula? nb of variations^nb of bars?  2005-02-26 by tinga (Voted 5 for this review!)

Great!! Now we are sure that we have leaved the old 20th century behind... New music is coming :) 2005-02-27 by magmavander (Voted 10 for this review!)

cool stuff !! 2005-03-02 by noolout (Voted 9 for this review!)

what's this? it says error: incompatible data! 2005-09-30 by sparschaeler (Voted 5 for this review!)

indeed, very nice stuff tinga!
@sparschaeler its caused by the missing grammar file (*.gram)
its the context of the improv peermachines. it holds the "production-syntax".
(its called "semantic")
would be nice next time to get the gram files too ;) but not really important - u showed us a usefull wire - keep it on! 2006-01-03 by floid (Voted 9 for this review!)

same error!!! 2008-07-08 by spesho (Voted 5 for this review!)
