Utilities

Cyanphase Overloader - Download - NUMEROUS additions to buzz
Usr's Midiwrapper (uMW buzzmachine midiwrapper) - Download - Wraps generators and provides Note Delays for ALL buzz gens as well as MIDI SUPPORT for ALL buzzgens, record your midi keyboard into buzz patterns with ease.
Mark Collier and BTDSys BuzzDeComp - Download - Extract wav files from ALL bmx files into neat directories easily
Namdans' Buzzhelper - Download - Great little utility to add, remove, duplicate, rename machines EXternally from buzz. This is great for say 'transferring notes between generators, patterns and patterns of them with ease'. 'Remove that buggy machine that is messing up your bmx'
Namdans' Chordwizard - Download - Has all of the functions of buzzhelper but with the additions of creating several patterns using a tiny step sequencer and 100s of keys/scales - GREAT for ideas/inspiration
Automaton BuzzplugXP - Download - Similar to hal dreamer's screamwaver, draw in parameter changes with your mouse
TBD and Waka X BuzzScan - Download - Scan bmx files and give a machine listing in .txt as well as pack almost all machines used - useful for collaborations.

Generators

Morex WordIn - Machine Page - Stereo Wave In hard disk sample reader - 32-bit floating point Wav files at a variety of sample rates up to 96 kHz
Kazuya Cafenoiz - Machine Page - Great new noise generator
Kazuya CafebassX - Machine Page - Simple synth at first glance, but very capable of diverse sounds
Kazuya CafeBass2 - >Machine Page - Along the lines of cafebassX
Kazuya GB Sound - Machine Page - Nintendo gameboy emu
Kazuya JC-4 - Machine Page - Controls assigned parameters by JoyPad/JoyStick. Other features are Inertia, parameter division and selection of X or Y co-ordinate.
Kozaluss GenB - Machine Page - Cascade FM / Div4 multitrack generator. It has ADSR, LFO and a PitchBend on board. It comes also with built in MIDI support. Makes for great sound fx !
Kozaluss Noizza - Machine Page - Great noise synth with many parameters and great lfo control :)
Kozaluss HSync - Machine Page - Create sine sounds used to syncronize brain waves
Fuzzpilz Otter - Machine Page - Organ synth that is along the lines of Jeskola O1 but much more vast!
Fuzzpilz Fu Drum 3 - Machine Page - Great drum synthesis machine, simple soundfx, and GREAT pattern/command layout ... like Unwieldy Tracker (THE BEST)
LD Padsyn - updated ! - Machine Page - No more problems with note offs and mutes and lack of sound input :D
Jeskola XS-1 - Machine Page - a great buzzmachine to support soundfonts without using the wavetable, similar yet different to sfz in pvst
Ohm Live Slice - Machine Page - Manipulate loops in a visual environment, loop is split into 4,8,16, or 32 slices of equal length, that can be rearranged using drag and drop in its wonderful GUI. This is actually a very complex machine, and can be very intuitive
BTDSys LiveJumpHack - Machine Page - Lets you jump to any song position assigned to specific keys on your MIDI or computer keyboard. Similiar in function, but not identical to, tools like Ableton Live
BTDSys Samplegrid - updated :) - Machine Page - Great binary/volume grid tracker. Some uses - assigning drumkits to midi keyboard easily, and multiple outs with SampleGridOUt
BTDSys Pulsar Gen and Eff - Machine Page - Pulsar Synthesis, a variant of granular synthesis - rhythmic and tonal sounds, depending on the parameters used
BTDSys SeqStep - Machine Page - Download - Very useful for using 'alternate time signatures'. Simply modify SeqSteps.txt in gear and you can now have steps of 3,6,9 in the sequence editor
Rewire - Machine Page - by an anonymous coder which can slave a ReWire compatible programs to Buzz

PeerMachines

BTDSys PeerCntrl 1.5 - updated :) - Machine Page
BTDSys PeerState1.1 - updated :) - Machine Page
Kazuya Midi2Peer - Machine Page - Peer machine that loads midi files and controls other generators
Jmmcd Peer Meta-I - Machine Page - A controller machine which could be useful for making meta-instruments (think templates), and some other stuff.
Jmmcd Peer Note-Pool - Machine Page - Improvisation machine that tells generators to play random melodies based on user commands and crude probabilistic algorithms.
KoDream Improv - Machine Page - Improvisation machine based on .gram files
Usr N+1 Peer - Machine Page - for those tasks that need precision, like selecting waveforms, transposing etc
Quence Pybuzz (paniq) - Machine Page - Loads python scripts and has 256 peer controllers that can be assigned to any parameter. This has the potential to add alot of missing functionality to buzz, see Mute/Plosive's pybuzz scripts

Effects

Cyanphase Jedshiva - Machine Page - I use this one alot, connect all chains into it and have a db meter per channel, also mute/solo channels (good for mixing) and a compact, low cpu GUI :) cyan is great !

Buzzmachines.com was also remodeled by MVA during early 2004 - he added quite a few things - including:
Machine comments by any user on the machine info page (contribute your own!)
Index.txt section - from which i recommend Download Hamster Alliance's index here
Profiles updated - click on your user name and see submitted reviews, presets, and forum additions
Drumkits section
Better Organization
Faster
Popups bother you ? Just use the google toolbar or something similar, it blocks about 99% of them

---

So some numbers for 2004
30+ new generators, (about 300+ generators total for buzz)
30+ new effects (about 500+ effects total for buzz)
many new utilities - my favs - buzzhelper, chordwizard, buzzdecomp
many new help sites
2500 bmx/mp3 files
Great VST support, piano roll with energyXT, peermachine mayham, presets, templates, transfer notes between gens with ease, frequently updated + sorted indexes, lists of machines to avoid via the various index.txt or buzzwiki, i could go on and on ...

---

Buzz dead huh ? are you sure ?

It has been a good year indeed ! Cheers to all the devs and hardcore buzz users !
Critics - So put this article in your 'buzz developement is dead'. On all the other 'buzzclones' ... prove me wrong, but isn't buzz still the best ? The
cloning has been going on for years now - almost 3-4 and still counting :) In the computer age, that proves to be a significant number of years.

And it isn't over yet, there are many things still in development - buzz isn't done growing yet, probably never will be :)
I used to be a skeptic, i've stopped that and focused on the numerous positives buzz provides me - we tend to forget about those !

---

Remember this entire page is really from November 2003 - December 2004, so i didn't include stuff from the previous 6-7 years of development (ALOT) !
Happy pre-new year's buzz massive ;)
