If you use m2buzz, use Cyanphase's Mc-1 to transfer notes to other machines - solves the need to update m2buzz's machine index with all the gens - noolout

PeerMachine Run Down

Date: 2004-04-14 Author: noolout Viewed 7455 times

A nice theme that has been developing for buzzmachines, is machine 'wrappers' ... this basically adds functions to machines which don't have such levels of control ... here is a quick rundown (hope i don't miss any)

Examples
BTDSys Peerchord full/lite - you can turn the chord function off, this allows you to use the fun note delays/arpeg/arp length/step/etc, multipattern sequence

BTDSys Peerlfo - add lfo's/inertia to machine sliders which lack them :)

BTDSys Peerstate - preset morph of machines, also can be used as a substitue for multiple peerlfo tracks, pvst-like preset factory morph of buzzmachines

BTDSys PeerCntrl - general-purpose parameter control machine

BTDSys PeerADSR - envelope trigger for buzzmachines

BTDSys PeerEnv - an envelope follower for buzzmachines

KoDream Improv - algorhythmic composition with .gram files

LnB PeerTrigger - autotrigger stuff via input

Usr's n+1 peer - for those tasks that need precision, like selecting waveforms, transposing etc.

Usr's uMw Midiwrapper - creates wrapped dlls of all machines, note delay, midi control of most machines that don't allow it

7900 XY Peer Controller - XY Controller, kaoss-pad like

Another common theme with these machines

Is that you can delete the machine's track in the sequence editor to clear it up and just program all changes in the peer machine's patterns/seq tracks

This concept sequence is really cool -
Peerlfo changes snapshots in peerstate, which are snapshots of peerchord, at different chords/arp/delay/length/etc :)
add in peertrigger for the input ;)
(thanks mute and tinga)

Less confinement to tick - peermachines are great for this

the included demo file is by XionD - for using peerchord without chord disabled

the BTdSyS MiNDKontrol Armada - its giving buzz a facelift =]

You missed quence pybuzz ;] pybuzz = peer machine that allows you to define the control in any shape or form through python scripting. for what its worth... i think the term 'wrapper' for the peer machines is a little confining but im probably being picky. there's wrappers and then theres peer machines.. to me, peer machines are more like modular control/math/routing tools that you'd find in other similar apps like puredata, max/msp, reaktor, bidule, etc but with their own limitations, character, and based more on UI interaction/setup. 2004-04-14 by mute (Voted 10 for this review!)

yep, i used the word 'wrapper' very broadly :) ... mute is right, PEER Machines are by NO means confining :) 2004-04-15 by noolout (Voted 9 for this review!)

great. Precious review, peer machines are decisive evolution in buzz . i have to learn about
peer trig ....thanks for this page! 2004-04-15 by tinga (Voted 10 for this review!)

Also, many of the peermachines are multitrack - so add ur tracks to that pattern editor for more bands ;)  2004-04-16 by noolout (Voted 9 for this review!)

thanks nool.
these comprehensive roundup reviews are great. and the peer dimension is an area that definitely deserves a round up. millions of future noobs thank you too. 2004-04-16 by highsc0re (Voted 10 for this review!)
