Yes... The volume doubles, but that's usually not a problem. I just think that the symmetry of the process is quite amazing. Even in the analog circuits one can use the same circuit for both conversions (the volume doubles there too, but that's what the volume knob is for. :)
Actually it would be handy to have separate plugin for converting from stereo to mid signal only and and another for stereo to side signal. On some occasions one would need one plugin less for processing mid and side separately. |

kibibu: Revolver works conceptually like the Convolver7, but for each tap you not only have an amplitude but also an output pan for the left and right inputs. The Revolver7 with all the pans at default will be the same as the Convolver7. |

kibibu: Stereo-MS and MS-Stereo are NEARLY the same. If you chain them together, you'll either double or halve overall volume. Stereo-MS is (M=L+R),(S=L-R) and MS-Stereo is (L=(M+S)/2), (R=(M-S)/2). |

Elektroj?nis: Cool! The Stereo/MS converters make it easier to make some stereo image tweaks. Left and Right help also. BTW... Has anyone noticed that conversion from stereo to MS is practically same as conversion from MS to stereo... No need to even reverse the process... You can actually even use the same plugin. :)
I did'nt quite understand those Revolver plugins though. |
