First alpha-release of ReBuzz: RePlay by mva
This release of ReBuzz still lacks most of its features. Currently it just enables you to load multiple bmx/bmw files into buzz at the same time. This for instance allows you to crossfade between different tracks. But attention: the plugin is very buggy at the moment. Get to know more about it here.

mute: I heard chimp conquered Sweden??! is this true?!?! MY HERO! yay chimp 2002-07-26

prismatic7: Ok. Maybe I'm stupid, but I don't get it. Explain to me in small words what ReBuzz is going to do - all of it. The whole project. Is it a Brand New Buzz distro, is it a player for Buzz tracks, and what is its OS status - ie, is there a sourceforge page I can use to track its development, submit bugs and so on? All respect to the chimpster, but the website is a little lite-on. (Not that that's a 'fix-now' thing - for god's sake chimp don't stop coding for one second!) 2002-07-25

mute: Patchwork cat ---- BuzzSync, MSync, etc,. Such tools already exist. 2002-07-25

mute: Chimp =] 2002-07-25

Constellation X: Space 1 this is much better because you can crossfase/mix songs. And what about the wave support that will come in next versions. Ever tried to import songs with wav's in a song that allready had wav's, you had to do that in a very clever way. 2002-07-24

rjkole: Ahem ... i use the "import Song" function in the main Screen Popup Menu. With this you can merge as many Buzz songs together as you want. -didnt ya know ? 2002-07-24

chimp:
One more - a quick one - Yes, the wav compression code is lost. However not all Buzz songs contain compressed wavs (some contain uncompressed wavs and so those work fine in RePlay). Also I'm still hard at work reverse engineering the wav decompression system and I've made some pretty good advances the last couple of days so expect full wavetable support in Alpha 0.2.0.0 soon.

chimp: You already can sync entire buzzes (or so I thought). Hey, if not, patchwork cat can write one, right?
In the meantime, the ReBuzz project keeps on rolling (patchworkcat - you realise you can't have a beta without an alpha phase don't you?).
You're quite right, the VST support probably doesn't work yet in RePlay (I haven't tried it but I know there's two things missing which most VST effects probably rely on). Next release will have VST support I expect (a couple days time at this rate if not sooner)
Download Alpha 0.1.0.5 of Chimp RePlay, which has an important fix for machines sounding screwed up (again - the previous fix fixed MDK machines but broke non-MDK machines!).
Oskari - you're right, the bmformat.txt document is itself correct, but the behaviour of the MDK wasn't documented.

patchwork cat: OK it doesn't say anything about the Rebuzz Replay not having VST or wav tables, just buzz1player project. It isn't obvious that these two are related if you come straight from here. Someone said that the wav compression code was lost (that's what I was getting at) so there won't be sound files? Also which vst loaders would be supported, isn't there a difference? Why can't someone write something to sync entire buzzes until this bigger project is mostly finished (ie a beta). 2002-07-23

Kerberos: I was talking about patchworkcat... I really don't get what he is saying 2002-07-23

Paul Eye: Kerberos: what the hell is who babbling about?? There's so many people babbling in here... 2002-07-22

Kerberos: What the hell are you babeling about 2002-07-22

chimp: Patchworkcat - http://www.rebuzz.org/news says what it can and can't do Everyone - alpha 0.1.0.4 is now out, which has a fix for some machines sounding crap (the custom machine data was getting corrupted because of a mistake in Oskari's bmformat.txt document!) and now has working support for MIF_CONTROL_MACHINES (i.e. those machines that control other machines parameters). Thanks to btd and crew for checking the machine data problem with Peer LFO! 2002-07-22

patchworkcat: Crap! I just downloaded it and it told me it couldn't load this that and the other. Nice if the page told me that instead of wasting my time! I gather the code for the comp is lost so whats the freaking point?? 2002-07-21

soma: This plug in is great, but it would be nice if I could tweak the machines inside the songs I'm playing. This could be implemented likein the vst loader, by asigning certain buzz parameters (from the loaded song) to parameters in the buzzplay parameter list. EG the ninja delay 1's and ninja delay 2's feedbacks from annenatron can be assigned (through an edit) to a slider in buzzplay. 2002-07-21

XionD: Loved by so many of the major buzz players uh, i didn't know that 2002-07-20 by djlaser - thats because it was a lie - sarcasm - jest....take your pick :) 2002-07-21

oomek: Replay GUI ? Where ? I dont understand your pronouncement New Atom 2002-07-21

NEW_ATOM: Heh I didn't realise the enormity of what chimp's done until I realised this hypothetical, but damn ideal situation: you open up a replay GUI, organise your track in there - with whatever new stuff chimp (& maybe co?) sees fit to put in replay, then you can organise whatever master effects you want out of that in the real buzz. that's amazing. chimp is my sugar daddy. keep on it :) 2002-07-21

mute: ....... 2002-07-21

davide: ... 2002-07-21

fhobia: I think XionD and djlaser are both cool. 2002-07-20

djlaser: Loved by so many of the major buzz players uh, i didn't know that 2002-07-20

mute: Djl: you gunna take this shit from a noob? (xiond: haha, much love ;]) 2002-07-20

XionD: Well Mr Raul - loved by so many of the major buzz players! I was merly stateing that if the installs are buggy (which they are sometimes) and they get posted here - why cant new machines. People will realize they are buggy and choose or not choose to use them. Thanx for showing us your maturity and worth. #buzz really really misses you - why not stop by. oh and if your offended that I stated a fact - the installs can be buggy - try to do a better job (although we are truely greatful for them). later XD 2002-07-20

djlaser: XionD: Youre a bug yourself 2002-07-20

vectrex: I really think that a new coded buzz shouldn't worry about being able to load old bmx's (or it should be the last thing to do). This will be a major pain in the arse and waste loads of time (anyway the sample compression algo is lost so there goes most buzz songs anyway). Any new buzz that can use the bulk of the existing machines would be all I ask for. 2002-07-19

jeph: This reBuzz project looks like exactly what i'm after, as much as I love buzz and all the machines writen for it, I find huge holes in the current interface ( i.e. mouse select, cut, and paste in the pattern editor! ), and w/ no updates to the main program,.. well, my hopes for improvment have been on a remake of the sequencer/interface part of the buzz studio set up, that is compatible with all the machines and .bmx files. reBuzz sounds like the closest thing to doing just that. It is unfortunate that tha code is being horded, and people are made to reverce engineer trival things such as wav compression. 2002-07-19

moon.god: I put something online that might interest you:

2002-07-19

XionD: Nad it seems to me that the INSTALLS are buggy to about 80% of the time which is a shame 2002-07-19

djlaser: 2ndProcess: 10% of Buzz machines? Rofl 2002-07-19

mute: ph34r chimp 2002-07-18

2ndProcess: No matter where they're released, alpha/beta machines should have the word alpha/beta in the dll name, or a version number. - I think that about 10% of Buzz machines are buggy and/or have very special conditions of use ;) 2002-07-18

djlaser: This ultra-alpha kind of machines shouldnt be released. Something like posting them in messageboard till they get final could be better imo. 2002-07-18

XionD: Ya could be nice - cept it only likes to load tunes that have buzzmachines - no wav - vst - soundfont...so its a little to (ALOT) limited - will be nice though - very nice. Good Move and Good work XD 2002-07-18

IntrospectiveJourneys: This could be a very cool plugin... when it isn't as buggy. This is really an awesome idea. 2002-07-17

2ndProcess: Wuhahahahahh!!! "the rising hope" 2002-07-17

spiralsource: Err, bmx's with no wavs 2002-07-17

spiralsource: Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mine doesn't like bmxs with wavs tho, only bmws and bmws with no wavs. 2002-07-17

ralphk: Good work, man! keep on and make this one more stable, it's really GREAT! :D 2002-07-17

stablepatient: This looks to be big! 2002-07-17

davide: WOWOWOW 2002-07-17

kmkrebs: That slight chill you all briefly felt was Hell freezing over. 2002-07-17
