New VST adpters! by mva
Ld0d took a look at the VST code and fixed bugs and added new features. A very well written manual is included. An updated index.txt is provided too.

rp[fr]: You can even try to tc spark fx in between. or vaz2001. or. or. or. ;) we're still working on a solution for some bugs... 2002-05-02

thOkede: If you find a vst effect that is not working, try the following :
1.) load ffx4 dx-adapter into the ld0d vst-adapter (http://vincent.burel.free.fr/download/ffx4_FullDemo.zip )
2.) load spinaudios free vst-wrapper into the dx-adapter ( http://www.spinaudio.com/cgi-bin/redirect.pl?freestuff/wrlite.exe )
3.) load the vst-plugin into the wrapper
.... a little intricate, but it works with lots of plugins -e.g. mda DubDelay, Endorphin ...
2002-05-02

ld0d: 2ndprocess: indeed, jx10 does work, dx10 demo doesn't :) 2002-05-01

omoptical: Ohmigod ! Thassit - turn the page on the day, walk away - REAKTOR VST WORKS IN BUZZ ! Anyone with any base speed for sale ;) As for cracks (software...) well, the last piece I paid for crashes every half an hour and the producer doesn't seem to want to fix it or reply to mails :( ES: fmheaven works if you don't ever open the editor - FM7's much better though... Palancar Brick and Neutronium didn't seem to work for me. Neither did fruity compressor, or phatmatik. DEC compressor caused real problems. 2002-05-01

LIBRARY: An overloader is badly needed for this. forcing the directory is nice because of the template thing. The vsti's are not out of control but I found enough effects to go clear off my screen 50+ from mda alone. THis is just the free stuff I am hesitant to pay for anything because I might never find it again. (you should be ashamed if you are cracking software). The reason that I have only paid for one is that the whole things a mess right now. www.dexrow.com 2002-05-01

rjkole: Does anyone else has that Problem, when putting a new Plugin into the Vst Folder and it does not appear in the List in Alphabetic Order ? With me even when i remove a dll and put i right back into the folder it appears somwhere it does not belong. The older Version of the Adapter shows all Plugins in Order no matter in which Order i put it in the Folder.Strange, isnt it ? 2002-04-30

2ndProcess: I think a real problem are people _selling_ cracked software. 2002-04-30

2ndProcess: Mda dubdelay doesn't work (that's bad cuz it's hot stuff:) - jx10 _does_ work, though the docs state it doesn't ... hmmmm... ;) - - - - cracked software: stop spreading myths. cracks _do_ work. some software doesn't... oh my god, these money issues are making me feel ill. I hope someone invents nanobots quickly ;) 2002-04-30

lunar07: Gus, guys guys :o) Ok! I see your points on cracked software. It is a point of view after all! But why do you feel that you have to announce it to the whole entire world that you use cracked software/plugins whatever. Why do not you keep it to yourself? The point is that why do you expect support from the makers of the adapter? It can really complicate their lives. Do you want to use cracked software? Ok! Go ahead! But keep it to yourself and do not make a fuss about it if it does not work in some host. Thank you for listening :o) 2002-04-30

eriklar: Weirdest thing is that my VST-effects show up, but none of the VST-instruments.. (XP Pro) Anyone have any ideas here ? 2002-04-30

mik_sorensen: Its a sad fact but cracked software is the only way you can actually try out most VSTis. The demos are usually crippled so much you can't actually try them out properly. I think companies should operate like RGC audio and release free working synths (eg Triangle II) that show off their talents and if you want you can get more functionality buy buying a more advanced version of it (Pentagon I) 2002-04-30

rp[fr]: Hamster: let's forget about it. got up with the wrong leg today... sorry. btw, you look exactly like a friend of mine. got a lost twin in germany? ;) 2002-04-30

HamsterAlliance: "hamster: if you expect that cracks work fine, stay doomed. that's all i say. no flamewar here. go and cry your ass off elsewhere." Everything else works just fine here, thank you very much and what was the point of your, 'cry your ass off elsewhere' comment? You have Tourettes? 2002-04-30

rp[fr]: I wonder if the average buzz user has got to be an idiot... (now that's a good way to make friends, isn' it?) 2002-04-30

rp[fr]: Hamster: if you expect that cracks work fine, stay doomed. that's all i say. no flamewar here. go and cry your ass off elsewhere. 2002-04-30

HamsterAlliance: "hamster: don't use fuckin' cracks ; ) 2002-04-29 by rp[fr]" - Then How the hell am I suppost to test this piece of crap?? I'm sure as hell not going to pay $100+, then find out it sucks and that I'd wasted all that money on it. 2002-04-30

LIBRARY: That is use the load command of the buzz machine in the index (I should proof read) 2002-04-30

LIBRARY: I think I would much perfer that the program didn't crash until I wanted to use it. even if I do figure it out it is to much trouble to even find anything let alone debug the whole mess so I am going back to just having my vsti's in the folder and using the rout adapter for the effects. It is always nice to have improvements and I don't want anyone to think I don't apreaciate it and I'll try putting the massiva machines back in. An overloader where you could use the load and other functions of buzz machines makes sense. I haven't given up on that csound silence vst has anyone got the thing to work???? 2002-04-30

rp[fr]: Remove the .dat's in your vst gear. 2002-04-29

rjkole: ... is it a Bug when i add a new Plugin to my Vst Folder and it does not appear in the List in Alphabetic Order ? - Every New Plugin Appears at the end of the List. When i use instead an older VstLoader the Plugins appear in Alphabetic Order ... 2002-04-29

jea: For the moment, none of my VST is crashing...Wonderful job guys. The subdirectory idea was a good one, but according to spacialists devs, this is not a good option. Then how can I choose a VST that is at the very bottom of my list, when my screen (with optimal confg) is too small to display my whole list. Sounds like a stupid question, but it's a real problem (at least for me). Thanks for answering... 2002-04-29

2ndProcess: That's weird... now we can use an arp with VSTi's, but not with Buzz's native instruments %) 2002-04-29

tmt: This version rulez! I didn't have any problems with this one, yet... :) 2002-04-29

rp[fr]: Hamster: don't use fuckin' cracks ; ) 2002-04-29

HamsterAlliance: The Absynth standalone program crashes all by itself. Yay! 2002-04-29

ombre: It's true that absynth is a weird vsti(link to an exe program) 2002-04-29

lunar07: ombre: Ronny (rp[fr]) is the one who keeps track of feedback, bugs etc... regarding the VST adapter. Just let him know in an e-mail and it is up to him to archive it properly :-)
Also, as rp[fr] mentions, it is almost impossible to make every VST work. In addition, there are so many badly coded VST's. The idea, maybe, is to make the properly coded ones work fine :-) I know for example that many VST's that show levels or any kind of visualization (like C_Tuner, and C_SuperStereo) are not working or partially working. But, the new adapter represents a 'quantum jump' in quality. Oh boy, I am only thankful it is working as good as it is now :-)
2002-04-29

rp[fr]: We've still got a bug which makes fx don't process sound and vsti's don't produce any. affected are e.g. absynth, c_superstereo and some more. apart from that, we will *NEVER* be able to support every existing vst plugin. there are so many bad written ones which need special code - it's just impossible. there are even vst plugins which crash cubase... 2002-04-29

2ndProcess: Yippie! No lost slider settings anymore after reloading! 2002-04-29

ombre: He have absynth plugin? 2002-04-29

ombre: Okay.. will do it but what can he do? 2002-04-29

lunar07: Space 1: Glad it worked!
Ombre: Just send a feedback e-mail to Ronny (rp[fr]). Preferably if what is crashing is not a crack of a VST :o) But I am NOT saying that you are using a cracked plugin. But just in case :-)
2002-04-29

rjkole: After removing all Vst Plugins, and put one after each other back into the Vst Directory it did work well.! I only threw out the FM Heaven Demo which made the Loader Crash,or let me say half-way crash, because buzz did not crash completely,i still could go on working but i had Error Messages like -runtime error 226 at 00005f95 -several Times during the first Start of the Loader. .May be this had caused not loading all the other Plugins. 2002-04-28

ombre: My spektral delay does not work message:" failed to load: spektral delay " oh and ,i owned absynth ,and it doesn't work too... can anybody help me?? 2002-04-28

lunar07: space 1 Can you give examples of VST's that are crahing BUZZ? This VST adapter is a huge improvement and I had not even one VST crashing.
Library Add your VST's one at a time with the * in index.txt to find out which VST is causing the crash. Also, with this adapter ALL Massiva's VST plugins are working (Cyber and Synthetic) even though they come with a VST Wrapper dll. however, you'll discover soon that using Massiva's plugins is quite restricted with the adapter since you can not switch the MIDI channel to play different instruments in one instance of the VST. That is, you have to use different instances of the VST's with the sample or syn instrument loaded at Channel 1.
2002-04-28

LIBRARY: I put back all my vst around 150 to 200 and without the * buzz will come up and with the * in the index buzz crashes. It's fine with me to force all the vst's into one index to make the templates possible but the preloading thing crashes it and it's a big mess to find anything in particular. I haven't tried any of the vst's with two .dll's but I suppect they will crash (massiva is comming out with those) www.dexrow.com 2002-04-28

thOkede: Space 1 - which one is not working for you ? Ever thought that it could be your setup ? Nearly every instrument and effect is working with this update here. Reorganize your vst folder and back up all the older adapters in another folder.
With vb-audio's ffx4 dx-loader and the free dx-vst-wrapper from spinaudio now even those plugins can be loaded that always crashed Buzz before.
A real improvement !!
2002-04-28

cellular: Speak for yourself... it loads most of the VST's i have, and that's a lot... i really want to thank the authors, this adapter is a huge step up from the last one! great work! 2002-04-28

rjkole: Thanks very much for your Work guys, but unfortunately it loads only a very few Vstmachines.- 2002-04-28

rp[fr]: ? 2002-04-27

lunar07: djlaser Did I hear you correctly?:Multiple Midi Channel Support coming up!
Do you mean we'll be able to play different instruments of a VST using different MIDI Channels at the same time?
So a MIDI channel will be part of Parameters per track of a pattern? This is great news.
2002-04-27

LIBRARY: The ultimate is some sort of command for the index file (load) vstadapter (vst.dll). and get rid of that .dat file. You have some vst's with two .dll's that freak the system out but I haven't tried it with the new adapter. IT has worked great so far. 2002-04-26

djlaser: Good news: works with VirSyn Tera VST. Multiple MIDI channels support will be added in next version 2002-04-26

rp[fr]: Skizzo: no offense, it might be a bug - but i rather consider it's a user fault. 2002-04-26

Skizzo: Well boys n gals, I stick with with the original(s) v0.35 beta. the new ones crash my system wether I started from scratch or not. what a pitty! anyway, got it ?to work for a few moments and it looked good, really. in spite of all the probs, I appreciate the great work...but it ought to work! :-) may I hope to see a bugfix soon? 2002-04-26

RomanB: Inertia for VST!!! cool! now i maybe will use some plugins... :> hmmm... maybe some of the nice vst verbs out there? :> 2002-04-26

kwoOk: Ld0d? More like Lg0d. :) Now that pianothingy works in proper polyphonic too, and the different index layout is much sexier. Good job, to all devs involved! 2002-04-26

shinobi: Rp[fr]: Thanks for your help re: buzz crashing. The plugin loader works now, and I'm very pleaased with it. I have been hanging for recordable knob movements on VST plugins for ages, and inertia is always a treat. 2002-04-26

rp[fr]: It scans the directory determined in the extended options WITHOUT its subdirectories. many people asked for the subdirectory thing but it's no good idea. everybody would hook up his own subdir structure which would make exchaning of such tracks impossible. a good idea would be to set multiple vst directories in the overloader options. 2002-04-26

g_montel: Hi Thanks for this adapter, it's great for sure! Could it be possible that the VST adapter scans all the subdirectories beneath the VST directory, so that the VST would be sorted by directory in BUZZ? Many thanks geoffroy 2002-04-26

rp[fr]: Shinobi: remove the i*.dat files in your vst directory. that will cause the adapter to scan the plugins again. this bug usually occurs when a corrupt/incompatible vst plugin is installed. about that reinstallation thing: seems like one of your vst plugins is not correctly installed. 2002-04-26

dimage: It's totally fabulous regardless no presets!!! 2002-04-26

IntrospectiveJourneys: This VST plugin pack is the shiznat! 2002-04-26

shinobi: I just tried the effect adaptor, and I get an error message telling me to resinstall a plugin, then buzz crashes. 2002-04-26

shinobi: I have a problem with this adapter, when I load the VST generator adapter, I get an error message "Illegal exeption error, click OK to crash" and the error window stacks up about 10 times. I also have that problem with an older vst adaptor. Anyone know how to fix this? 2002-04-26

rp[fr]: You can check out the included html (also referred as appetizer, hehe) here -> http://www.djlaser.com/vst.htm 2002-04-25

rp[fr]: It's finally available here ;) 2002-04-25

piexis: Fantastic. 2002-04-25
