relativeq: Well, for anyone who's interested in kyrie, i've been betatesting the damn thing for months (and i'm working on presets now, too), i can tell you that it is fucking killer. i'm getting noises out of that thing that can't be compared to anything else on earth. all you idm kiddies better get ready... ;) and big thanks to rymix for being mr. visionary synthesis boy. i certainly appreciate it. :) |

elektroj?nis: Whoa... That kyrie thing sounds huge... Can't wait to see it. Anyway, I just want to add one comment to the gui thing: GUI doesn't need to look like a candy store. The standard windoze sliders, buttons and thingies are just fine if they are arranged in userfriendly way. If some thought is put to arranging them it can be great. |

relativeq: Damn enter key...
anyway, rymix, one suggestion i have for kyrie, even if you have to farm out the work to do this, is it *NEEDS* a gui. there are far too many parameters in it for it to be anywhere near idiot(i.e. me)-friendly. i'm using a resolution of 1280x1024 and it still takes nearly 2 screen-heights to fit that thing on there... |

rymix: Leave me alone =) Btw, Kyrie 0.9 should be here when mva checks his mail. I'm working on 2 things now: AcoustiBox and a new feedback auxbus type thing. |

relativeq: Wow... a delay with lfo's... just what i wanted. and i didn't even have to harass rymix for a month to get it... ;) |

Paul Eye: MIDI works fine for me...but one thing I'm missing is a MIDI note recording attribute, like on for example the Slide Flute (kind of stupid to hook up an mC-1 just to record notes, I think...). Apart from this: sweet machine!! Unbelievably weird bubbling bleeping tripping sounds can be done with this synth. Thanks ld0d!! |

vectrex: LDod: Love the padsyn only one thing I want is inertia on the cutoff. With the current version you'd have to make it an attribute (which would be fine) but in future versions it would be cool as a slider (since some sounds and patterns change the inertia to get easy long filter slides etc) |

Sylvia: It's working pretty good here. Just using Zephods midi tracker and a loopback device - not a very serious test.
Is the update already done ? - Wow !! |

|
|
ld0d: Could someone please try if the midi implementation works? if it doesn't, i could fix it before releasing the next version :) |
2002-01-27 |
|
|
rymix: Ld0d: you can release an updated version with global and fine tuning as additional attributes and it will be compatible with previous versions =) Good machine btw |

|
Sylvia: LD - that would be nice! It's just an addition, that makes initial sound programming easier - nothing implemented now is lost.
BTW - with C-Tuner (a vst-plugin you can find here : http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/NickWhitehurst/cplugs.htm ) it's 2 cents below standard tuning.
It's a really great sounding machine, that deserves an update ;-) |

LIBRARY: We could make buitiful music together. Just rename the readme file to the name of your synth.txt and its available from inside buzz

ld0d: Ok, it's one cent out of tune, blah. =) |
2002-01-26 |
|
|
ld0d: Sylvia, i guess i could add that... i just hate all the problems that come with changing tempo and syncing to notes :(
digitalis, at least in my tests padsyn is correctly tuned (when compared to jeskola bass machines). i'll add finetune parameter to my next synths, i guess it's needed then. may i ask what machine you compared padsyn to, maybe that would help me fix it? |

Fuzzpilz: Vectrex: The UDelay 2 already has a bandpass filter. The ADSR thing is sadly impossible because of the way a delay works. But you can do something slightly similar by modulating the output volume with the LFO. (which you'll probably have to reset in a pattern first) The UDelay1 bug you mentioned is exactly why I updated it. Thanks for the feedback. |

Digitalis: Please!!! I love the Ld Padsyn but it is out of tune! It dosent fit with all other synths. Please add a finetuner in the synth! |

|
vectrex: One thing Fuzzpilz, could you maybe put a bandpass filter in udeley2? (since it's technically not released yet :) Then I'll be VERY happy. One more idea you could add is and adsr for the delays (or just an attack/decay) that would be brilliant and it would also help to stop clicks with tpb changes (I love swinging with tpb so it also swings the delays) and/or a declick attribute..
btw a few friends of mine say the udelay1 output level gets reset to full (ie way above 100%) when they reload songs sometimes. Havn't checked the update yet.. oh udelay really is cool :) |

Sylvia: Ld - synchronizing with phase parameter is always a mess. Is it hard to implement all frequency values or/and tick-syncing ? Sorry - if this is a stupid question. :) |
2002-01-25 |
|
|
ld0d: Padsyn has lfo phase parameter... to sync lfo to notes, set lfo speed near the correct speed and reset phase from pattern to get it exact :) |

Fuzzpilz: Juri: I uploaded it here, but mva hasn't put it up yet. |

juri: Forgot to mention, the Padsyn is one of the coolest synths i've seen in Buzz. Great for all kinds of VA sounds. |

juri: Fuzzpilz, where actually did you upload the U-Delay 2?
I can't find it at buzzmachines.com.
Upload it already, i can't wait! |

Tic-Tac Shut Up: Whoh. this padSyn is nice. i can't believe how easy it is on my processor. very good work. very good synth. i'm also surprised how much i like the clipper, very simple but nice.
Fuzzpilz: keep releasing stuff. the unwieldly delay was something i wanted for a long time.. space echo style. thank you! |

|
Fuzzpilz: The PadSyn rules rules rules. The Unsign I haven't tried yet. The others are mine. I've also uploaded the UDelay2, which is the same as the UDelay1, except for some additional features (e.g. LFOs and adjustable playback speed of feedback buffer) that hog the CPU more. |
2002-01-25 |
|
Sylvia: 1.)Thank you all ;-)
2.)Some additional txt with a short explanation is always nice
3.)The PadSyn is amazing. Haven't done much with it yet, but the demo sounds are quiet impressive. Just one thing : Why always these step-values for the LFO Freq in most synths ? If i want to sync the LFO to Buzz's default BPM (126) i would need 2.1 Hz or 4.2 etc.. but the slider jumps from 2.04 Hz to 2.21 Hz. And no tick sync here - |

devilbird: *doh* forgot to shamelessly promote my chillish songs i've made with buzz, relying heavily on Ld PadSyn. so here it goes, feel free to send me comments (pleeeeeeeeeeeease, send me comments if/when you've listened them ;))... http://www.vohveli.org/~dvb/ =) |

devilbird: Ahh, Ld PadSyn kicks the arses of all the other synths posted here before. i've been using it for some time already and i just LOVE it...
it's stable, doesn't hog my poor cpu, the parameters resemble those of a real one (unlike Hal Dreamers.. sheesh, nice sounds on his synths, BUT they hog cpu and crash buzz every now and then when loading) and with little tweaking gives you a wide variety of sounds...
other machine programmers should learn from this one. :) |
