Finally 2 new machines! by mva
Our new dev from the Us made a simple stereo Gapper with smooth function. A new dev named harcoonan made a phat Spectrum analyser. It has a real phat Gui! It lets you focus on the more important frequencis. It has highly optimized fft and gfx code.

ladproject: Ooh, boss..I respect their work, no problem! for me theZe machines don't suck, I ever say thiZ thing... I told only that I don't like it, because I think that the storic Buzz machines can do the same work.... so, why create three same machines?? and new generators??when I'll can use a new generator?? respect to you Mva, but nothing to all intollerant people who write shitZ on his comments....people, try to respect others comments...cya 2001-09-05

Mva: You have to respect the developers! You can say that you don't like these machines, but you don't say that the machines suck! People worked hard on these machines, so show some respect, even if you don't like them. 2001-09-03

ladproject: Boss Mva, everybody has his personal opinion...only the facts can say that it's true or false... and the facts are clear: Buzz stop, Fruityloops run away... I continue to think that Buzz is great(I use it very much) but with theZe new machines...OH MY GOD....!!It's only my opinion, pleaZe respect it...thx! 2001-09-03

Mva: Booooooooooooooooo (do I have to say more?) 2001-09-02

ladproject: Theze machine are nice...nothing more! I can tell you that I'll ever use them in a real song... developers, old and new, pleaZe read my idea on Buzzfaq (machine ideas section)and reflect! STOP creating shit effects.... I think Buzz is stop from many months..The last really useful machine I remember It was Sonic Verb... and after it??? only shiit...!! to answer me, pleaZe send me an e-mail...!thx!| http://ladproject.cjb.net 2001-09-02

harcoonan: I don't know what you meen about to slow and to fast, but here is some info: I get like 300 fps on my 700Mhz comp. To classify the refresh-rate on this machine as slow would be a stupid thing to do. An fft size of 2048 lets us take 44000/2048=21 distinct samples of the audio-sream per second without overlapping. My machine uses a cyclic buffer, but you will get a history anyway. And if that is what you mean, then it doesn't mather which machine you use because the functionality is exact the same. You can not slow down or speed up an audiostream without changeing the audio driver setting. If you have an fft size of say 1024 then the lowest freq component you can represent is 22000/512=43hz. You can see that such small fft is not an option for the human spectra with 30 as the lowest freq. But it's good with feedback. Kepp it up ;) 2001-09-02

Some-E: The gapper is not in sync with the song?! I wish that it got synced when setting the rate, for example. Until that, I'll stick to RhythmGate and GoaSlicer. 2001-08-31

Some-E: For my use the refresh rate is too fast! Geonik's Visualisation is better for my needs (tuning multiband filters). But it's different kind... 2001-08-31

sonicflash: The only thing that really *nerves* me is the low refresh rate of the bars! so its, a bit useless :( ps:sorry for my "germish" 2001-08-30

2ndProcess: DB is logarithmic, the analyzer not; if you added a dB scale it would have to grow faster to the end:) 2001-08-28

Lunar07: Harcoonan: no it is not antialiased. just that the colors are kind of close to one another making it hard to see the text. in other words, too little contrast :) if you can see it clearly it may mean too that either my vision is getting to be weak, or it may mean i have a sort of color blindness :) the vertical axis in not in db? what is it in then? finally, i see your point about the freq. but it starts from 0 on the left? I thought it started with 20hz :O My OS is Win ME by the way and I'll send you a screen shot later this evening. thanks, lunar07 2001-08-28

harcoonan: Lunar07, Do you mean it's antialiased? What OS do you have? Can you send me a screenshot? Adding freq values is useless as you will only see the high end of the spectra and the important part merged to the very left (That's my opinion, You already know it's 0 to the left and 22k to the right), and you already got that for the human spectra which displays it in a better way. That's why I made it. The y-axis is not in db. 2001-08-28

Lunar07: Thanks harcoonan. The text I am talking about (as you may have guessed) is where the user can make selections. It just blends and blurs with the background. Also, please consider adding freq values vs db values on the axis :-) 2001-08-28

harcoonan: Sorry about the contrast thing. I'll fix that. Thank you all for the response! I'll do my best to please you. And yes, I'm working on a generator... and some more effects. :) 2001-08-28

2ndProcess: The best GUI for a Buzz machine yet//finally a stereo gapper! thanks! 2001-08-28

Sylvia: Chrisisasavage....thanks!! this comments section is really useful. ;) 2001-08-27

Lunar07: Also for the spectrum analyser...I wish we have values on the freq vs db axis so that we may have a better idea. 2001-08-27

Lunar07: The spectrum analyser is AWESOME and it is runnig so well on my PC. With this analyser who needs some shitty VST FX to do the same :) One problem though: the letters are hard to read for lack of contrast of the test with the the background of the machine. Hope this can be fixed. What we need now is a MIXER from this guy :) He seems to know his stuff and how to put it into a nicely looking machine. 2001-08-27

chrisisasavage: Thanks for the suggestion. I've modified it. I'll resubmit the changes. Oh, and the Spectrum Analyzer rocks :) 2001-08-27

rymix: A *working* FFT based generator would be awesome (if that is what he is working on). It will be interesting to see how he does the control for it =) I like the spec analyzer thus far, but I cannot really evaluate it until my home machine will display over 256 colours (broken vidcard) 2001-08-26

Mva: Works fine for me... and it looks really awesome! hmmmmm I though that Harc said to me that he is now working on a generator.... but I don't know for sure ;) 2001-08-26

Har: The spectrum analyser looks real nice...for about 2 seconds before it makes Buzz crash on my machine every time I open the GUI! Damn...oh well... 2001-08-26

rymix: A spectrum analyser allows you to look at the frequency content of sound, usually displaying lower frequencies to the left and higher frequencies to the right. It is very useful for tweaking your mix so that instruments and effects sit together nicely frequency-wise (ex: bass drums should be mostly sub-lows, basslines should sit in the lows, but not in the sub-lows, mids and highs... vocals also should fit into their own "range" and things like cymbals should be highs only). You tweak the frequency range when you use/by using Equalizer (EQ) and Filter machines. 2001-08-26

127w: Whats the use of this spectrum analyser? I don't get it. 2001-08-26

Sylvia: This Gapper may be 'simple', but it does the job precisely and without clicks. I wish it wouls support more values below 1 tick, so that one could do very fast triplets. (..i know, that i can raise the tempo ) 2001-08-26

jts: Amazing! These are both VERY impressive machines. Nicely done you two. Keep it up! :) 2001-08-26
