| hail to oskari !
I bought this originally in 2003 .. i think it was even released earlier than that (or in development at least) think the latest r6 came out late 2002-early 2003ish .... anyway, this is one of my favorite machines for loading huge soundbanks - sf2s:) ]
For saving space on your harddrive, converting samples to .xs1 is also a good idea,
download the file here, i am not sure who the author was, but it is a highly useful util :)
http://www.noolmusic.com/pics/bm/xs2bat.zip
Depending upon the samplebank, conversion can yield up to a massive 50% file size saving
compressed .xs1 versus .sf2
cheers to oskari, a very intuitive, simple, yet elaborate and powerful setup/gui :)
The sample quality is also docuemented on the net

| Agree - perfect for huge sf2, but reversing is tricky... |

| I wouldn't know what to do without the Jeskola XS-1. It's used multiple times in nearly every Hamster Alliance track.
The sound quality is fantastic and causing the XS-1 to crash is a difficult task, it's extremely stable. It does have one small problem with reloading songs that use large soundfonts: sometimes the sounds load with audible glitches. This is fixed by reloading the soundfont into the XS-1.
It could use a few more features such as a filter on the built-in delay and reverb effects. I believe the XS-1 could also benefit from a pattern structure like the Fuzzpilz UnweildyTracker with more Tracker Effects and colums. |

| I'm using buzz for a long time, but haven't tried this one.
I must say, it looks nice..but I'm still really satisfied with Unwieldy Tracker & several Polac OUT's.

| Beautiful sampler with outstanding soundquality. Compared with other samplers like Reason, Halion, Fruityloops the XS-1 beat them all. Comparsion test can be viewed at Jeskola's site:
