Buzzmachines msgboard - invert stereo effect?

Phatten up a sampled loop or breakbeat using filters as a crossover! Use two filters (Jeskola Filter2 works well), set one to HP and the other to LP. Adjust the frequencies so you have the "thump" in one filter and the rest of the sound in the other. Now you can process them separately. Try adding reverb, chorus, or delay to the highs, and distortion, compression, or gating to the lows. Take those skinny mono beats to a new level! Lykwyd Chykyn

using "sound forge" back in the day i was impressed with the tweak that "invert stereo" performed and if you're not sure what i mean it's what happens in "beastie boys - hey ladies" on the guitar sampled segments as they alternate; one sounds inside and one sounds inside out.

clicking through the "dr. dre - chronic" album i noticed how remarkable it is when "nuthin but a g thang"--a popular song from that release at the time--comes in; it's using this "invert stereo" effect and it sounds wide and larger than life in scope.

is there any effect like this for buzz? it might not be called "invert stereo" but would do the same thing and if it was variable that could be very interesting.
